NDRA Sets Drag Racing Schedule with Extreme Horsepower Action for 2013
Kitchener, ON – March 16, 2013 - The National Drag Racing Association (NDRA) has expanded their power package and proudly announces their 2013 schedule.
This year, the addition of an incredible cast of Pro Doorslammers will double the excitement in the grandstands whenever the NDRA appears on the entertainment roster!
Headlining the NDRA show, the Alcohol Funny Cars will push their 3,000 hp mills to the limit for cash prizes, series points and braggin’ rights. There is plenty of fierce, yet friendly, competition amongst the drivers that will equate to a lot of fun for anyone in the bleachers! Will 2012 NDRA Alcohol Funny Car Champion Larry Dobbs of Welland, ON be able to repeat his stellar season from 2012 and become this year’s NDRA 2X Champ? The rest of the AFC field will definitely be gunning for him to take the 2013 title!
The Pro Doorslammers are a contingent of all types of door cars including Pro Mods, Top Sportsman and Super Street. The strong field features 
six-second, 200 mph plus cars and a plethora of body styles that will delight the crowds and keep fans on the edge of their seats. Again, the intense competition level amongst the drivers and teams will guarantee that spectators get a huge bang for their buck at every event!
With the entire field of uniquely styled bodies, representing all of the big brand automakers and the variety of mega- mills in both classes, fans’ quotient for speed and eye candy will be absolutely filled!
From the beginning of the four race NDRA Alcohol Funny Car Drag Racing Series presented by Ohsweken Speedway and the Pro Doorslammer Drag Racing Series, to the last car across the stripe for the season, the National Drag Racing Association presents a spectacular show – Bar None!
Dale Boeru, NDRA’s President & Director of Operations is excited about the expansion and has grand expectations for the second year of the rapidly growing popularity of this enhancement to Canadian drag racing.
“We are looking forward to kicking off our 2013 season at Grand Bend Motorplex for the RPM Magazine/Lucus Oil “Spring Blowout” on the May 18-19 weekend noted Dale Boeru. Grand Bend Motorplex is where it all started for the NDRA and we are extremely pleased that track owners, Paul & Kim Spriet are supporting the association for this event along with the “August 11-12 NAPA/Stratford Spectacular “Hot August Nights” this season once again”.
NDRA will also return to the legendary dragstrip, Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park once again for two major events.
“Again, the NDRA will be part of the annual Canadian Nitro Nationals event set for July 13-14 and the Canadian Funny Car Championships on the Labour Day weekend Aug 31-Sept 1.” continued Boeru. “We are thrilled that Toronto Motorsports Park owner, Uli Bieri and track manager, Neale Armstrong have added our new NDRA Pro Doorslammer class to run with our Alcohol Funny Car program at both events”.
Added to both Cayuga Dragway dates will be the NDRA Nitro Nostalgia Funny Cars of Gary Kraus and his “Pony Up” 72’ Mustang and Doug Cadman’s 73’ Dodge Charger, the “Chi Town Hustler” they will pump a little NITRO adrenaline for all who witness these “show-cappers” in action.

ABOUT THE NDRA
The National Drag Racing Association will present two racing classifications in 2013 with its Alcohol Funny Car Series presented by Ohsweken Speedway entering its second season of competition, while the newly added Pro Doorslammer division will provide spectators with an enhanced dose of high-octane entertainment.
The Alcohol Funny Car division represents one of the most exciting groups of vehicles and competitors in all of motorsport. Reaching speeds of more than 250 miles per hour in 5.6 seconds over the quarter-mile racing distance is just the beginning. These 3000 horsepower machines feature flip top carbon-fiber bodies that enamour fans both young and old.
NDRA Pro Doorslammers are a unique bunch of race vehicles that evoke a certain type of emotion from spectators who watch them. The combination of late model body styles with those many people would remember from their childhood gives the class a personal feel. Add in engine combinations that include superchargers, turbochargers and nitrous and you’ve got a recipe for impressive, six-second, 200 mile per hour runs down the quarter-mile.
